I am currently a graduate student at Stony Brook University. The main focus of my research is the non-linear mechanical behavior of Plasma Sprayed Ceramic coatings, which is also known as "Anelastic" behavior of the coatings. We developed a Ex-situ coating property (ECP) sensor in CTSR to observe and quantify the anelasticity of the coatings behavior.
Currently, I am involved in developmment of ECP sensor for higher temperatures which could be able to measure the anleasticity of the YSZ coatings of real turbine blades.
