My research is centered in understanding process-property relationships in ceramic coatings, including but not limited to Titanium Dioxide. My research is carried out with APS and HVOF processing techniques. Another important part of my work focuses in improving the understanding of commercially available in-flight particle state sensors and their response to variations in process space. My work on ceramics ranges from investigating the effect of individual thermal history of splats on their morphology, phase content and stoichiometry to mapping the effect of process parameter variations into the coating structure and transport properties |
