Current Activities
The main focus of the research is thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) of
yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) by Atmospheric plasma spraying.
Especially, I'm focusing on the deposition rate effects on stress
evolution during TBC formation by utilizing 3-dimensional in-flight
particle diagnostics system and an in situ curvature monitoring
sensor. Obtained knowledge can be extended not only to structual
materials like YSZ but also to semiconducting materials like silicon.
Single splat work is also under going as my life work.
